Richard and Maria work in a variety of media and distinctively different methodologies. Richard and Maria ChauDavis have collaborated on installations for Hotels/Motels (Unofficial Art Fair 2017), Lori Lipsman’s ‘Vacancy 3,’ an installation at Larry Caveney’s Garage gallery titled ‘Off Center,’ another titled ‘Suburban Zen” More whimsically Maria created ‘Pride Toys’ for San Diego’s Art of Pride in a booth shared with Richard ChauDavis.
For Maria Ming Sum ChauDavis, time and change are the subjects in her work. Her interest lies in the ephemeral. She uses articles from thrift stores as important parts of her installations. Maria graduated with BA in fine art and art history from UCSB, as well as, a BS in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She is one of the founders of Wedgeworks, a ceramic studio, and has exhibited work at the San Diego Art Institute.
