Born in San Diego, California in 1961 to an American father and a Japanese mother. He created paintings and sculptures that emphasize the retelling of stories and myths from around the world. His 1995 Kokeshi series started in homage to his Japanese mother with his first Kokeshi representing his family of brothers and sisters. His figures are a mixture of images and color that represent influences of multiple cultures. The artist’s work is both romantic and wonderfully whimsical! This will be his second year at Hotels/Motels (Unofficial Art Fair) and we are really excited to see his new work.
