Rhythm, Verse, and Composition was a multidisciplinary exposition that combined performances, demonstrations, interactive presentations, video screenings, and visual art exhibits.
Over fifty artists, art professionals, students and instructors at East Lake High School participated in this one day event in the Ruth Chapman theater. The exhibit included poetry/prose, literature, journals, visual art, and much more in the form of books, papers, and portfolios. Danielle Kanacki (modern dance performance “Deliver Me”, Tiffany G. Vinson (theatrical monologue), Ian Overcash (Guitar w/vocals Tiffany Vinson), Justin Rucker (singing “I’ll Be”), Zoey Bauer (song/duet w/Diego San Miguel), Bill Garcia (poetry, short story, quote/spoken word), Binly Phownsily (break/modern dance performance “Illest Happiness”), Lonny Wood (spoken word), David Hayes (The Urbanite Monologue), experimental music & spoken word performance with video by Raymond Lafferty.
The Urbanite Monologue was a dramatic three-act performance art piece written and performed by David Hayes. An existential tale of a writer living amidst the noise and chaos of a developing metropolis becomes a convincing *cri ecrit - written cry. The performance included music as an important transition between acts.

Cindy Zimmerman gave a figure drawing demonstration using a human skull as a model. Tony Allard lectured on multiple projects he was working on including “The Mobius Text Project” and his video “Ship of Fools”. Mario Torero discussed his work in Chicano Park and his pilgrimage to Machu Picchu cultural art exchange.
