Defined by its conceptual rigor, thematic resonance and an adventurous post modern aesthetic, Martino’s art is an exploration of the many often contradictory trajectories that intersect and define our hectic day-to-day lives and hint at the hidden, Inner World seething just beneath the gleaming surface of a world on the edge. His work hangs in public and private collections nationally and internationally |

He revisits his childhood pursuit of drawing animals from various photo sources such as calendars and nature magazines. Geary’s work crosses many genres, from performance to photography, and often with a sense of both humor and isolation.

Larry Caveney is a contemporary painter, sculptor, and performance artist. In his work, he engages conceptions of visual, and social recognition, using pop iconography and other familiar imagery. His expressive applications of acrylic paint on un-stretched canvas capture his various personalities in a moment of gesticulation. His painterly portraits echo Francis Bacon’s transmogrified faces with a distinctive kind of raw, parabolic, branding. Caveney’s painting and performance, both require an immediacy from the viewer, which opens the experience of the work into a relational space. In this expanse, he hopes to circumvent that potentially isolating space, that the world can sometimes represent.

Michael Walrond is a contemporary artist and commercial photographer based in San Diego. He is interested in the transformation of images, using light and organic manipulation without Photoshop or any post production processes. In his work he hopes to capture the authentic self through splinters of unedited emotion. He also works in film and installation. Walrond dropped out of art school in Los Angeles to directly pursue work in the creative industry. He has worked on design, film, and fashion projects, such as Michael Jackson’s tribute exhibit at The Grammy Museum, Il Teatro Alla Moda by The Wallis Annenberg, and La Plaza. He currently works as a contemporary photographer and installation artist out of his studio at the ArtHatch building in Escondido.

Mikaela McLeish is San Diego based figurative artist, who paints with oils on large-scale canvases. Her work engages the figure with expressive applications of paint and a highly saturated color palette. Mikaela’s painterly process reflects her concerns in the contrast between the pulsating figure and static color field. Within the grotesque manipulations of the human body, she seeks to capture the sensation of the figure constantly shifting between presence and absence. Inspired by Jacques Lacan’s philosophy on mirrors and how they help children develop a sense of self-identity, McLeish’s current work explores ideas of consciousness and the self.
